February 19th:Reflections on 60 Yearsin the Shooks Run Neighborhood
Owen Cramer, Professor of Classics at Colorado College will walk us through the history of Shooks Run before and after its upper reach was diverted westward in the Templeton Gap Floodway and the human settlement near it, including historic denizens of the neighborhood: Joe Dozier and his grandson Frank Waters, Fannie Mae Duncan and the Looart Press.
March 19th:The Transformation ofGlen Eyrie
Tim Peckham from Glen Eyrie’s history department will bring us a lecture and slideshow featuring the architectural changes that have occurred since first constructed until the final “castle” was complete in 1905.
April 16th:A photo history ofThe Broadmoor Hotel
Cynthia Leonard, Broadmoor Hotel Historian will present a lecture featuring images from negatives that have just been sitting in boxes for 70+ years. These include the “new” service station, the Broadmoor Florist, the building of the International Center and more.
